About the Author

Ankhi Dasgupta

An educator and accomplished dancer, Ankhi, is associated with a renowned school in Delhi NCR in the Early Years cohort. She started her career in Kolkata, West Bengal and then moved to Delhi and later to Noida. She has worked in some of the prominent schools in Noida since 2010 and has been working in the Early Years since 2014.

Her passion to work with the youngest learner motivated her to bring forth the ‘Read, Learn, Grow’ series which caters to all the developmental milestones of children and focuses on the foundational skills of learning.

The series of books give an opportunity to the different level of readers to further enhance their reading skills and also to develop their cognitive skills, fine motor skills, pre-writing and writing skills.

Ms. Sunita Banerjee - Beginners series

Born and brought up in Kolkata, Sunita Banerjee’s tryst with paintings and colours began when she was just 8 years old. Bengal’s beautiful countryside fascinated her and she vividly captured them on her canvas. Despite her innate passion for art, she was unable to pursue formal education and eventually, after marriage, she completely lost touch. But as destiny would have it, after a long hiatus of 40 years, Sunita reconnected with her lost passion. Today, at the age of 60, she is pursuing her dream of becoming an artist. Her hand drawn paintings for the ‘Read, Learn, Grow’- Beginners series, are her maiden effort. ‘Read, Learn, Grow’- Beginners series is a collection of picture books for the Nursery children and is designed to inculcate in them the love for reading.

The Beginners series not only caters to developing the pre reading skills of the children but also sparks the child’s imagination and stimulates curiosity. It is a well designed series keeping in mind the age appropriate developmental milestones for children.

‘Read, Learn, Grow’ - Vowel series is a collection of books which focusses on the sounds of the vowels and enables the child to develop an understanding of the CVC words.

Understanding the sound of the vowel is a key aspect in English reading and writing. Words in English need vowels to break up the sounds that consonants make. So ,it is important for children to be thorough with the vowel sounds in order to be a fluent reader.

This is a five book series and each book consolidates the sound of a particular vowel as well as gives an exposure to the sight words. Apart from developing the reading skill of a child the book also stimulates curiosity.
